This is a two way system. The Eftpos provider installs software on your computer that RxOne will pass the value of the sale to the system Eftpos system, which notify RxOne if the transaction was successfult. The main advantage of this system is the reduction or elimination of extra phone lines for Eftpos. The main disadvantage is if your computer breaks you won’t have Eftpos. Provenco, EFTPOS NZ and DPS Windcave SC and Vault provide this system.
An interfaced sale is where, if the amount tendered in the sales screen is displayed in the EftPoS field and the sales staff presses either the + or F12 to complete the transaction, control is passed from RxOne to the EftPoS Terminal. This will automatically dial out and pass the dollar value together with the account type (credit or debit card) to be processed through ENZ channel. If sufficient funds exist, this is indicated by the EftPoS Terminal, the user then informs RxOne and the sale transaction within RxOne is completed. ie (One way) systems where your Eftpos Terminal is connected to the computer and we pass the value of the sale to the Eftpos Terminal and your shop staff inform RxOne if the sale is successful. The main advantage of this system is if your computer breaks you can still process your Eftpos through the terminal as if it was standalone. The main disadvantage with Interfaced Eftpos is there is no reduction in phone lines used. However the Eftpos Providers have informed us that there are now broadband solutions available for this so it would be a good idea to talk to them. Eftpos NZ and Cadmus Smart Pay and Windcave HIT provide this system.

If your computer ceases functioning then you can still put transactions thru the EftPOS Terminal as you would a standalone EftPOS Terminal
'Secondary acquirer' cards;
The EFTPoS suppliers are not currently able to provide for secondary acquirer cards such as Flybys as a fully integrated package. If your business currently processes secondary acquirer cards, this can still continue as before in exactly the same way. In this case you will need to keep your existing EftPoS equipment operational.
Additional Notes
To be able to see Eftpos transactions from the RxOne POS screen. Go to the bottom right hand corner and click on the pink Eftpos icon (PC Eftpos Client). This will bring up the Eftpos Menu, click on "Journal".
