Deleting Patients
Deleting Patients
[Revised Aug 99]
Patients must remain in the database for at least three years, so that any scripts dispensed for them have somewhere to point. They can be actually deleted by merging their scripts with another patient, or in effect deleted by changing the family name.
To 'delete' a patient
Bring up the patient's history, and select '
Personal info'.
Add an 'x' top the start of the family name, Eg, change Fred Smith to Fred Xsmith.
The data is still complete and if an item relating to this 'deleted' patient is looked up it can be seen that it was for Fred Smith, but will no longer come up under F Smith.
