Dispensary Update March 2025
RxOne Dispensary Update March 2025
Adding External Family members
Pharmacists can now add an external family member to a known patient’s profile using the NHI.
From the patient’s Personal Info, go to the Family Member tab, right mouse click and select ‘Add External Family Member’.
Enter the NHI of the external family member to link to this existing patient.
Family members that are existing patients in the same pharmacy will display with full name, whereas external family members will only display as an NHI number.
NHI validation – saving CSC details
From the NHI validation screen, under the ‘Cards’ tab, you can now see if the patient is a CSC holder or a CSC dependent.
CSC holder: The tick box ‘Save Active Card to RxOne’ in the ‘Cards’ tab will be ticked automatically, when you validate the patient NHI, the CSC details will be saved to the patient profile automatically.
CSC dependent: the tick box ‘Save Dependent Active Card to RxOne’ is not ticked as default. Pharmacists need to tick this option if they want to save CSC details for a dependent.
CSC details for dependent will not be auto-downloaded from the silence validation process where RxOne checks for Cards and Enrolment status each time you access a patient profile. The details can only be saved using the save option during an active NHI validation or added manually by pharmacists.
CSC details added to the dependent profile will be treated as a manual add and will not be auto-removed when the dependent reaches 18 years old. Pharmacist will need to assess the eligibility of the dependent then and leave/remove the CSC details accordingly.
CSC Eligibility for Family
Primary CSC holder is an Adult: If an Adult in a Family unit is a primary CSC holder, that CSC will automatically be applied and saved in the profiles of all the other dependents of that family (Y & J), but not the other Adults in the same family.
Once any of the dependents reached 18 years old and their RxOne patient category is changed to ‘A’, the CSC details will be automatically removed from their RxOne profile.
Primary CSC holder is under the age of 18: their CSC details will be not extended to any other members in the same Family unit.
For primary CSC holders aged 18 or below, who are also primary caregivers of other dependents: pharmacists will need to add the CSC details to the dependents manually in this situation.
