Rolling Stocktake - Scan Barcode

The Scan Barcode function is a quick way to do stocktaking and change Stock on Hand (SOH). The number of times you scan reflects the number of whole packs you have in stock.

The Scan Barcode function should only be used for products that are always in full packs.

Scan barcode accepts stockcard product barcode as well as for compounding batch barcodes, however most compounding products are not in full packs so this may not be applicable for some of the compounding products such as raw materials where you always break the pack.

For a compounding ingredient inside a 100g bottle you may only have 30g left. Scanning the open batch will register the SOH as 100g, therefore you should only use this function if the product is in full pack.

Scan barcode example

If you have 5 bottles of Nurofen, with barcode 9300631314134

Select ‘Scan Barcodes’.

Open

Select ‘Begin Scanning’. Scan the barcode and select ‘Ok’, repeat the same procedures 4 more times. The item you scan will appear on the screen whenever there is a new barcode introduced or whenever ‘Cancel’ is pressed.

The item will appear on the screen with Quantity of 5. At this stage the stockcard SOH has changed to 5 packs.

A list of what you scanned is available next time you open the rolling stocktake, this is so you can have a copy of what was scanned and changed. Please note that SOH has already been updated at the time of scanning you do not need to stocktake the scanned items again.
