Setting a Patient as an Animal

Setting a Patient as an Animal

Set up Animal, Species, Breed, Colour

When dispensing a script from a vet you will create the script under the animal’s name. In the profile under ‘Special Conditions’ mark the patient as Animal by right click on the Special Conditions and select ‘Make Is Animal’, you can also set the animal’s species, breed, colour etc. You only need to do this for manual scripts as eScripts will automatically populate the information from the payload for you.

You can also do this in bulk for multiple patients by running the ‘Customer Report’.

  • Select ‘Is Animal’ from the ‘Special Condition’ drop down.

  • Tick the option ‘Report on patients that do not have selected condition’.

This will give you a list of patients who are not animals.

Highlight the patients you wish to set as animal by clicking the button ‘Set patient as Animal’ and use the ‘Set Species Type’ button to set the species (cat, dog etc.)

To add more species, colour, or breed please go to the RxOne Editor, select ‘New’.

Add new species

Enter the new species such as ‘Bird’ and select ‘Species’ in the ‘Condition Type’.

Add new Breed

Enter the new breed such as ‘Labrador’ and select ‘Breed’ in the ‘Condition Type’.

Add new Colour

Enter the new colour such as ‘Ginger’ and select ‘Color in the ‘Condition Type’.

It is important to make sure that an animal patient has the ‘Is Animal’ condition attached to their profile as there are certain rules in RxOne that bypass the mandatory requirements if the patient is an animal. For example, DOB requirement, sending script to third party reporting i.e. MyHR, eRx and IHI and address checks and so on.
