Troubleshooting Windows Printing Problems

To test if your printing problem may be a Hardware, Driver or Windows problem go to:

Printers and Scanners > Select the Printer and click Manage > Print Test Page

If a test page will not print, then it is likely an issue with your hardware, driver, windows or network. If A Test Page does print, but RxOne does not, then contact RxOne help.

On some occasions factors outside of RxOne’s control may cause printing problems, particularly for networked printers. If the problem sits with a networking or windows problem then you may need to ask your IT Support to look at the problem.

We have used recommendations from outside sources for this information. Use them carefully. We recommend that you use an experienced IT technician to resolve Windows and Security issues

Sharing Printers

If you have a printer plugged into a computer that is set to sharing with other computers, then a Windows update may have caused the printer to be blocked for security reasons. We recommend that you do not share printers. For label printers, your best option is to purchase a printer for each of your dispensary computers. This will prevent disruption to your work flow. If you do choose to share a printer this way then the responisbility for maintenence of this connection falls to you or your IT Support.

Print Spooling

Sometimes Window Print spooler can cause problems with printing, particularly in a networked situation.

Windows Upgrade

We recommend that you do not upgrade to a later version of Windows on older computers. This is because newer versions of Windows are designed to run on current hardware, rather than older computers. An upgrade could mean problems for your printer drivers.
