Refunds and Returned Items
Refunds and Returns are processed through Point of Sale.
First start a new sale in the usual manner. Scan the item being returned, or search for the item in the Stock Item column.
Enter the Quantity as a negative amount, for example ‘-1’
Click on the refund method (Cash / Eftpos / Direct Credit). If it is to be refunded to an account, then enter the Account Name and select Account.
You will be prompted with the amount to refund.
Option - Identify Refund Sale
You can turn on an option to identify the sale that is being refunded. In the main POS screen, click Options in the Main Menu and select Identify Return Sale (Global). Note: This is a global option so all POS terminals will be affected. This option allows you to identify whether an item was on Special and also the price paid for the customer at the time, if they don't have their receipt.
This will cause a pop-up window to display when you select a negative value on an item that shows previous sales for it. Select the appropriate sale and click OK.
