Price Over-ride at POS / Discounts
Manual Over-Ride
Users with the appropriate permissions can manually over-ride prices from within a sale. It is not best practice to use this feature, rather set up specials or use the discount feature.
To change the price of an item within a sale use the cursor keys to move to the Retail field and type in the new price. You can also choose to discount an item by highlighting the discount field and typing in a discount percentage.
Discounts
There are a number of discounts that you can do at POS.
<F5> Discount - will discount all items (excluding prescriptions) in the sale by set amount. The default for this is 10%, but can be changed in Options. To access options from the homepage, type Options into the search field. Go to POS Settings tab and change the amount on POS Discount using F5.
<F6> Special Discount - will discount all items (excluding prescriptions) on the sale by 20% and is typically used for staff discounts.
<F3> Variable Discount - will ask for a discount % and apply the given discount on all items, excluding prescriptions.
Individual Discount - use the cursor keys to highlight the Discount field next to the item to be discounted and type in the value of the discount.
Other Pricing Options
Items at LIST cost + GST - will change the price of all items to the latest List cost on the stock card and add GST to that
Items at REAL cost + GST - will change the price of all items to the last cost price for a stock item and add GST to that
Items at Retail excluding GST - will remove the GST from all items
Promotions / Specials
If you are running a promotion or have certain items on sale then we recommend you set up a promotion using the Specials module. You can find information about this here Specials
Friendly Society Discount
Overview.
Setting up RxOne for Friendly Society Discounts is quite simple and flexible. In essence, when doing a UFS discount RxOne adds one or two stock items to the sale with negative retail values. These lower the total value of the sale without affecting the retail price of the items on it. This therefore allows items on the sale to correctly count towards clubs at full retail price and GST to be calculated correctly. RxOne allows you to set different discounts for script and non-script items. You can discount by a percentage or by a dollar and cent amount (dollar and cent discounts will never drop a retail below zero).
How to set up Friendly Society Discounts:
Create two Product Groups 'FS Script' and 'FS Shop' or similar. Don't make the names too long as they need to show on the EOD/intensive daily reporting report. Set GST and discounts to zero.Create two (non-drug) stock cards. These can be called 'Society Script Discount' and 'Society Shop Discount' or similar. These names are what will be displayed on the POS screen and the dockets/receipts. Set their pack size to 'an outer is 1 pack of 1', reorder to false, POS lookup to true, cost, markup and retail to zero and their product groups to the new groups made above.
Using the Friendly Society Discount utility set the options for the shop. These options are:
[ ] Pharmacy is a Friendly Society. (All the society discounts are turned on/off by this. Tick it)
[ ] Ask if customer is a Society Member after every sale. Ticking this will cause POS to prompt on every sale. You may choose to use <F2> at POS to prompt.
Script Discounts may be set to a percentage or dollar and cent value.
In the field below “Use this stock card for script discounts” look up the stock card 'Society Script Discount' made up earlier.
Shop Discounts may be set to a percentage or dollar and cent value.
In the field below 'Use this shop card for shop discounts' look up the stock card 'Society Shop Discount' made up earlier.
In the POS 'End Of Day' report go into 'Setup Intensive Daily Reporting' and set the 'Intensive' flag to 'Yes' for both the society product groups.
