RxOneRecare Integration
RxOne Script Queue and ReCare AppBar
It is possible to forward scripts from the Script Queue to your Recare AppBar and let reCare handle the automatic printing of scripts.
To allow this you will need to do the following:
Select a Primary Dispensary computer
Install reCare virtual printer
Setup RxOne to print to the
Setup reCare virtual printer
You will need to contact reCare if you need help.
On the computer you have chosen as your primary dispensary computer:
Check for a file called REDIRECT.exe in C:\Program Files(x86)\GHC\DriAppBar\redirect
Right click on this file and select “Run as administrator”
Once completed, restart your PMS to load the new printers and follow the original instructions.
If you do not have administrator rights, please contact your IT provider to run this file.
If the file is missing, you can download it from https://doctor.recare.co.nz/downloads/reCare/REDIRECT.exe and place the file in the directory above, follow steps above
You will also need to setup the actual printer for reCare to print to.
Setup RxOne
This step will set up RxOne to print eScripts to the reCare virtual printer that was set up in step 1.
From RxOne Home screen search for Options in the search bar.
Select the User Details tab
Under Primary Dispensary Computer – select the computer to be used as the primary dispensary computer.
On your primary dispensary computer open Printer Settings. Under eScript select the reCare virtual printer. (The printer is generally named reCare)
Script Flow
Once this is set up scripts that come into the RxOne Queue will automatically be redirected to reCare AppBar which will handle printing. You can set this to automatic or to print scripts manually. For help with printing from reCare you will need to contact their support team.
Scripts that have been sent to reCare will be flagged with a ‘P’ in the PDF column, showing that the script has been sent to the virtual printer. The script should also be showing in the AppBar.
When scripts have printed, you can scan to dispense. The scripts will be removed from the basket as you dispense.
Troubleshooting
Script hasn’t printed.
If the script hasn’t printed you can check the following:
Has the script been sent to the AppBar?
If the script has been sent to the reCare AppBar then you will need to check with reCare as to why it hasn’t printed from there. You can check this by going to the AppBar and searching for the patient’s name.
Is the Primary Dispensary Computer turned on and RxOne is running?
RxOne needs to be running on the Primary Dispensary Computer for this feature to work.
Is the reCare AppBar running?
You will need to check this, and start reCare for this feature to work.
If scripts aren’t being sent to the AppBar make sure that RxOne Home screen is running on the Master.
Note: If RxOne is set up to send scripts to the AppBar then you cannot print scripts from the RxOne Queue screen. Clicking print PDF will just send it to the app bar again.
If the script in the RxOne Queue has a P in the PDF column then it has been sent to the app bar and needs to be printed from there. Any printing issues from there are ReCare issues and you will need to contact them to sort.
