Interactions

While RxOne will perform checks against known interactions, we do not guarantee that every interaction will be notified. The checking pharmacist is responsible for checking interactions in all cases.

Dispensing

Drugs dispensed are checked against dispensings for the last three months. For repeats, drugs dispensed in the 3 months before the original are checked.

Point of Sale

If a sale is recorded against a customer, using any of the methods listed below, then items purchased are checked against other OTC purchases over the last three months and against drugs dispensed recently.

For example: If a patient is on Warfarin, and purchases Alkaseltzer, as soon at they are identified during the OTC sale the interactions will be detected and advised when possible.

Customer identification

  • Any OTC sale which includes a script collection automatically identifies the patient for all the items in the OTC sale.

  • Any account (debtor) sale.

  • Any customer club sale.

  • Any sale where the customers ID card is scanned.

  • Customers can be identified manually. Select Customer and type in the name for lookup using the Patient lookup of the dispensary module.
